Zygomatic Implants - Sedro Woolley, WA
An Innovative Implant Protocol
for Severe Upper Jawbone Loss
Zygomatic Implants Are
a Game Changer for Many Patients
Full arch implant rehabilitations are a common and predictable treatment with excellent long-term survival rates. Tooth loss leads to deterioration of the underlying bone and severe resorption of both the maxillary (upper) bone and mandibular (lower) bone. As such, some patients aren’t considered candidates for conventional dental implants due to the lack of sufficient bone height and width. Several techniques have been developed to achieve sufficient bone augmentation to place dental implants. If you’ve been told by another practice that you aren’t a candidate for dental implants, Cascade Dental Implants is the right implant center for you. Our highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Lance Keyes has extensive implant experience and will help determine if this innovative solution is a good option for you based on your oral health and anatomy. If you qualify, zygomatic implants in Sedro Woolley, WA will transform your smile function and beauty and dramatically improve your quality of life!
What are
Zygomatic Dental Implants?
When zygomatic dental implants were introduced in 1989 by Dr. Per-Ingvar Brånemark, this revolutionized the art and science of dental implants. In 1998, Nobel Biocare™ started the production of zygomatic implants, enabling patients with severe bone loss to restore their smiles. While dental implants are normally secured in the jawbone, zygomatic dental implants are surgically placed in the zygomatic (cheek) bones. Zygomatic implants are significantly longer than traditional dental implants (30–60mm vs. 10–15mm) because the distance to the cheekbone is much longer. Before the development of zygomatic dental implants, invasive grafting procedures were required to establish adequate bone volume to place dental implants. When you receive zygomatic implants at Cascade Dental Implants, bone grafting typically isn’t required, the treatment process is shorter, and you’ll experience transformative functional and aesthetic improvements. Placement of zygomatic implants requires advanced surgical experience due to the proximity of vital anatomical structures. Dr. Keyes places zygomatic implants in Sedro Woolley, WA on a routine basis and has years of experience and clinical outcomes that back up this treatment.

Are You A Candidate For Dental Implants?
How Our Modern Dental Technology Benefits Our Patients
What to Expect When You Get Zygomatic Implants
During your consultation, Dr. Keyes and Dr. Lemme will ask you about your full medical history and perform an oral exam to ensure you’re an appropriate candidate for this procedure. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used during your preoperative evaluation to obtain an estimate for implant sizes and plan accurate placement. The 3D image created from your scan is used with X-Guide®, a dynamic 3D navigation system that extends the capabilities of CBCT technology for greater precision and accuracy of the position, angle, and depth of each dental implant. Although zygomatic dental implants may sound more invasive than conventional implant surgery, they can be placed in one surgical procedure. In addition to advanced skills in implant dentistry, Dr. Keyes has the training and credentials to administer general anesthesia and IV sedation in the comfort of our office. The extra-long implants are placed near the location of your bicuspid teeth (fourth and fifth teeth from the center to the back of your mouth) into the zygomatic bone. Typically, conventional dental implants can be used in other areas of your upper jaw with adequate density. Zygomatic dental implants in Sedro Woolley, WA are a transformative solution for patients with severe upper jawbone loss. After you receive zygomatic implants at Cascade Dental Implants, you’ll no longer struggle with the consequences of missing teeth or ill-fitting dentures and can enjoy everything life has to offer!
